Updated
trick
page with handlebar master cylinder conversions and gauge mounting
(rev, temp etc.) options. Also a nice front hub conversion for a
disk brake and some pictures of the mounting bracket from a proper
GP200 Electronic. |

Bloody hell it's
been a while since I've updated! I've had a million Lambretta
nightmares to deal with since the TS1 blew up back in April (never
put 666 on the side of your scooter!) Anyway I'll explain all this
another time but I'm now running an AF250 engine which is a nice
ride compared to the TS1 - smoother, more torque (get's up hills no
problem) I've some dyno graphs which I'll put up here for all to
see. Latest update is that although it sailed through the MOT a
couple of weeks ago, driving back from Aldershot all lights went
(everything) and the carb kept falling off (use pukka Jubilee clips,
not cheap imitations!) Lighting problems seems to be down to the
stator plate as only 2V are coming out of it! Also fitted the
Scitsu Electronic Tachometer
and a
new Sebring rack |

Burn Lambretta Burn
- you don't see this everyday! |

Took the head off
and bollocks indeed [1]!
TS1 barrel is lightly scored so will need re-nicasiling. Will take
the crank out and see how badly that is effected as there is
aluminium everywhere! Bugger, but I've been thinking about building a
proper 250 so hopefully
AF
Rayspeed get their fingers out with the RB25! Alternatively the
Rapido 250 looks good (£250) Will need new 60mm race crank,
crankcase modification and larger carb! |

Popped into the Epsom
Whirlwinds Lambretta Club 50th Anniversary, there's some
very cool Lambretta history here in deepest Surrey. However coming back
southbound on the A3 at ~80mph, just past M25 J10 a loud
"pop" came from the engine. Fortunately it was pissing down with
rain and dark but managed to get to the clutch and over to the side of
the road with no lights. Couldn't get the plug out because of stupid
chrome cowling, but it's obviously either a hole in the piston or a blown head gasket.
Pulled plug later
after Carole Nash had relayed me home (excellent service) and it's not a good colour! Scooter has been
running sweet for years now - bollocks! |

Well it's been a while so here
we go. Find some pics below that you may have already seen in
Scootering. Frank Sanderson sent me these - it's his latest project,
a twin cylinder 350 cc Gilera engined, carbon fibre bodied sprinter.
Apparently its a test bed so they can evaluate the motor for
production to fit in S5 kits. All the body panels are from the
moulds for the new Lambretta but altered to suit. Carbon panels are
in production and are for sale on Franks website [1] [2]

I found to an original Lambretta LI125 Series III that belonged to a friend of a friend,
been sitting in his shed for 10 years. Changed the petrol tank,
replaced the fuel tap and cleaned the carb and it's now running and
got an MOT. My son Dan brought the scooter, although he's fallen at
the insurance hurdle so it's sitting in my shed. Some rough camera
phone pics here [1] [2]

I've worked out that for every
10 hours I spend working on my Lambretta, I have about 1 hours
pleasure riding the fucking thing! |
